Is it okay to use normal tires on the road?

There are days when normal tires are sufficient, but please consider winter equipment such as studless tires and chains to be essential.
It depends on the amount of snow each day, but it's better to be prepared.
In addition, FF (front-wheel drive) and 4WD (four-wheel drive) vehicles are safer than FR (rear-wheel drive) vehicles.
Our ski resort staff also commute to work every day. Please call for details.

Please tell me about the condition of the access road to Ibuki-no-Sato Ski Resort.

National Route 180 is always cleared of snow and de-icing agents are spread, so it is unlikely that you will be unable to drive due to accumulated snow, except when it is snowing. However, you should be careful of frozen roads in shady areas such as on bridges and at the entrances and exits of tunnels.

What are some tips for driving on winter roads?

The key is to drive safely by slowing down from the start and not using the brakes too often.
Braking can cause the tires to lock. Even if your car has ABS, if you brake hard, the tires will lock, and even if your car is a 4WD, if the tires lock, it will skid and you will lose control.
